Oprah was in Toronto with her Life Class Tour . I must admit I don’t get the Oprah hype, but the 8,500 plus people who snapped up tickets at a record pace did. CTV News reported, Individual tickets for “Lifeclass” in Toronto were priced as high as $1,000 on Craigslist as of Monday morning. Others were selling a pair for $600 on Kijiji, another online marketplace. The people then lined up for blocks and blocks in a wide slow moving mass “that resembled the Israelites exodus out of Egypt”. The show was broadcasted live from the Metro Toronto Convention Center. Familiar with the special guest teachers, I decided to tune in and watch. I’ve always liked the energy, and motivational drive of Tony Robbins . Deepak Chopra is a little too new age for me, but he’s good for a line or two. Toronto’s own Mike Myers played Guru Pitka in “The Love Guru” Pikta was a Deepak Chopra parody. Iyanla Vanzant a old-time Oprah regular, was repetitive and really did not interest me. The teacher that did interested me, (who I know would not disappoint) was T.D. Jakes. This man has a repertoire of words and metaphors that could make Webster’s jaw drop. Bishop Jakes is such an insightful visionary. His wisdom filled analogies fly into your ear, compute through your brain and rest in your heart. This gentleman has a great capacity to understand where people are in their lives; never looking down, but across.
He is a senior pastor to a very large global ministry called The Potters House (their home church building is in Dallas, Texas). He’s an awesome pastor, teacher and motivator, I know a person who is not of Christian faith but loves to hear this man preach and watches him every Sunday. Now that’s good. Though he’s a pastor, he is very much aware that life happens, that good and bad happens to all of us regardless of faith, race, or demographics. He’s not afraid of tough topics and I’ve never seen him shy away from or decline a challenging subject. Jakes is not one to pull any punches and you’ll always receive a straight answer, maybe not what you want to hear, but it’s most likely what you need to hear.
Check out T.D.’s services on TV, online or YouTube some of his teachings; over the years I’ve received a wealth of information that has influenced my life in many ways. T.D. Jakes is the best part of this Life Class Tour.
Oprah’s Life Class Tour has a very positive and inspirational message. Those willing to take some of the advice and apply it to their lives, could quite literally change the quality and direction of their life. The line up of Oprah’s teachers are champions in their own right and by the look at the crowds at her first time broadcasting from Canada, they would agree.
We’re in this life together, ” The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives.” Tony Robbins
“You are no greater than what you believe.” – T.D. Jakes
You will never feel better about yourself by making others look worse. – Deepak Chopra
They can say bad thing about you but you must never say bad things about yourself.
